Vivian Chamas

From the bank to the bay.

Vivian Chamas was born in Miami and raised in Belize, where her family owned businesses. She entered university at fifteen and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University in California in 2001.

Seventeen years in banking followed, including Scotiabank, with senior roles that began at one of the world's ten largest financial institutions and carried her across the United States and the Eastern Caribbean: Belize, Barbados, St. Vincent, and finally Sint Maarten, where a 2012 assignment became a home.

Within six months of arriving she had seen the gap: newcomers to the island needed one trusted partner for permits, companies, banking, and everything after. In 2013 she founded BrightPath Caribbean. In her own words, it was an idea on a sheet of paper that almost did not come to fruition. It became a group.

She describes herself as a capitalist idealist and a complex thinker who implements simple execution. She still likes to practice business the old school way, on a handshake, and she leads every company in the group personally: chief executive of BrightPath Group, lead broker at Bright Future Realty, and the standard setter for CaribTax and La Sucriere.

She works in expert English and Spanish with intermediate French, mirroring the clientele of an island where four languages share one main street.
